Kentucky National Signing Day Update

If you don’t know, today is the day in college football, National Signing day. The day when all the hard work, late night film watching and over the road trips come to fruition. The day when Kentucky football locks down its 2011 recruiting class.

Here are some quick updates on who has signed with the Big Blue along with a couple of whose left questions.

The big news of the day was the announcement of Lamar Dawson as he chose USC and Lane Kiffin over Kentucky and Tennessee, leaving the Cats short in the linebacker category and losing Mr Football for Kentucky to a school that’s 2,000 miles away and on probation. the power of a program won out over a program still in building mode.

The Southern California beaches probably didn’t hurt either. Honestly, at 18, USC is pretty attractive for any student, but for the Cats to lose Dawson is big.

Kentucky also losses Eastern High School tight end Jon Davis who had originally committed to UK, but then began wavering, finalizing his decision today as he chooses Illinois over Kentucky.

That’s two elite in-state stars lost today to schools outside of the Bluegrass state.

Here is the current lost of those who have signed a LOI to The University of Kentucky:

Nile Daniel Griffin (Ga.) 6′ 0″ 185 WR
