Even A Sick Marquis Teague Is A Scoring Machine

“I was really sick so I couldn’t really feel my legs,” Teague said. “I was weak from the (opening) jump.”

Sick or not, 2011 Kentucky recruit Marquis Teague put on a show, scoring 25 points to help the 4A No. 9 Red Devils to an 80-74 victory over No. 3 Bloomington South in Conference Indiana action Friday night at Pike High School.

The Panthers came out hot and took a 26-12 lead after the first quarter.

“We weren’t worried about it,” Teague said. “We just wanted to stay together as a team, pick up on the defense and play a little harder on offense. We were taking some bad shots.”

Teague hit 9-24 from the field and 5-9 from the charity stripe, dished out 7 assists and grabbed 7 boards. That was a sick Marquis Teague.

Here is a healthy Marquis Teague as he went for 23 against Bishop Chatard in high school boys basketball Wednesday night.
