Teague to Wear Wildcat Blue…

On a day where Kentucky lost one of its own to the NBA, the Cats picked up the #2 Player in the class of 2011.

The possible #1 pick of the 2010 NBA Draft, John Wall, said his farewell in a presser conducted on Thursday at approximately 10:01am. A John Wall who commented “Every time I sit back and watch a highlight reel of this team this year, I sit back and cry in my room, because it’s so emotional. I never thought this team would be this special“.

Only 3 and 1/2 hours later and 189 miles to the North, Marquis Teague is preparing to announce where he will play college basketball in the 2011-12 season.

The race for Teague is between two schools, Kentucky and Louisville. Two Coach’s who have played major roles in the program at The University of Kentucky. One, bringing the program from probation to a national title and one, turning a faltering program around in only one year through the recruitment of possibly the greatest Freshman class in the schools history. A class that included John Wall.

Teague is a key piece to both schools plans for 2011, with Louisville possibly having the most to lose or to gain. Kentucky had received a commitment from Michael Gilchrist, the #1 Player in the 2011 class, just a week prior. Calipari could possibly wrap up the number 1 recruiting class for 2011 if Teague commits to the Cats…

Most likely, both Coach’s already knew who Marquis had chosen. Rumors and Tweets had leaked to the media his choice, but until the announcement, nothing was official. Welcome to the Big Blue Marquis…
